Nahr Al Bared’:15,000 Evacuees and Bad Humanitarian Conditions
•National Information Agency – North Lebanon:
About 15,000 of Nahr Al Bared’s residents have fled the camp and sought refuge in Al Badawi camp. But thousands refused to abandon their homes and they are now in danger of being caught in the crossfire.
The UNRWA vice-president at the North, Sanaa Ali Abu Faraj, announced that the evacuees were hosted in the 7 schools at Al Badawi camp, kindergartens, social associations and some of the camp homes. She added that the number of evacuees will increase in the coming hours.
Yesterday, the president of UNRWA Medical center, Dr. Akram Yousef, declared that the center treated 200 wounded. He added that UNRWA offered a truck full of medical supplies and declared that another truck full of food will arrive today afternoon to Al Badawi camp.
It was announced that there are 4 corpses and more than 20 severe wounded in the Crescent Medical Hospital.
•· A statement attributed to Fatah al-Islam was sent Thursday to several media outlets in Lebanon, saying the militant group intends “to blow up several crusaders' universities and schools tomorrow in the event the Lebanese army does not surrender."
•· The Prime Minister Fouad Siniora vowed to "uproot" terrorism from his country, blaming Fatah Al-Islam militants for using Palestinian refugees as a prop to attempt to destabilize the country.
•· On Thursday, the Lebanese army shot and sank two inflatable boats carrying militants from Nahr Al-Bared refugee camp near Lebanon's second largest city, Tripoli. Among the dead was Fatah al-Islam's second-in-command, Abu Madyan, whose body was found near the Nahr Al-Bared camp.
Nahr Al Bared latest incidents: Some Palestinians narrated what they saw and how they fled the camp
Since the beginning of the bloody battles at Nahr Al Bared camp, the Palestinian Red Crescent Hospital at Al Badawi Camp received the wounded. Some of the wounded were delivered by the Lebanese Red Crescent and others used to reach the hospital alone due to the difficulty of medical supplies. Now we will present some stories narrated by the wounded as reported in BBC.

•For the second consecutive week, Naher Al Bared camp was still besieged and exposed to bombardment due to the battles between the Lebanese army and Fateh Al Islam militants.
•According to authentic resources, the Lebanese army deployed at the borders and entries of Naher Al Bared camp where many military vehicles were watched moving forward.

The head of the public committee at Naher Al Bared camp, Abu Hesham Leila, said: there is a shortage of food and water in the camp. The bombardment is blindly where many civilians were killed and wounded and 3 mosques were damaged. He added that the electricity was cut off and portable water is not available inside the camp since water reservoirs were hit. Mr. Abu Hesham Leila appealed to the responsible leaders to give permission to the ambulances and fire engines to enter the camp because the humanitarian condition is deteriorating there.

Civilians continued to flee Naher Al-Bared camp near Tripoli… clashes spread to Ein El-Hilweh camp at Saida city
•Clashes between Lebanese troops and Islamic militants have spread to Ein El- Hilweh Camp, Lebanon's largest Palestinian refugee camp in the south. The trouble in Ein El-Hilweh began Sunday evening when Jund al-Sham militants began targeting army checkpoints surrounding the camp with rocket-propelled grenades and automatic rifles. Troops returned machine gun and cannon fire. Fighting picked up overnight and resumed briefly Monday morning.

Attempting to spread the fight to Ein El Helwi camp… the battles continued at Naher Al Bared camp
•In the 16th day of battles between the Lebanese army and Fatah Al Islam militants, fighting has spread to a second Palestinian refugee camp at South Lebanon aiming at opening another front line. But the Palestinian parties worked hard to calm the situation down.
•In the 16th day, clashes continued between Lebanese troops and Fatah Al Islam militants. The Lebanese army had managed to reach a few hundred meters inside the refugee camp and clear out pockets of fighters. The army avoided making any military operation near any region people resorted to.

Evacuating 35 civilians and delivering food and medical supplies to Naher Al Bared Camp
•Yesterday, it was decided that a delegation from Palestinian Islamic Scientists League and another from Islamic Work Party had to enter the camp in order to negotiate with Fatah Al Islam militants and discuss the initiative that was posed by the head of Islamic Work Party, Fathi Yakan, in order to put an end to fight. But the severe battles hindered the entry of the delegations.
•Army troops have continued their assault against Fatah Al Islam fighters at the coastal side of Naher Al Bared camp near Samed position that was totally destructed. The battles were also focused at the surroundings of Al Tawneah position and Naji Al Ali Hospital.
•Yesterday, the Lebanese army halted fire at 11:30 giving chance to people to pray Al Zohor, while Fatah Al Islam militants continued firing at the Lebanese army positions.
Naher Al Bared crisis between severe confrontations and cautious calm
•Yesterday morning, the battles between Fatah Al-Islam militants and the Lebanese army calmed down. At 1:30 PM., the severe confrontations began in which the Lebanese troops shelled at Fatah Al Islam positions in the Western side of the camp using the artillery fire. After 3 hours, the confrontations engulfed the Eastern and the Northern entries of the camp where the Lebanese army bombarded at Al Taawneiah surrounding, Samed position and Al Hawouz mosque. Some resources reported that the Lebanese army fortified its military positions near Al Mahmarah village at the Eastern side of the camp reaching the Al Abdah village at the Southern side of the camp where the army dug trenches at the road leading to the camp from the side of Abdah village.
•On Saturday, the bombardment was focused on Saasaa, Al Safouri and Al Saadi
· Yesterday, two members of the Lebanese Red Cross were killed when Fatah Al–Islam militants hit their vehicle by a shell near the northern entrance of the camp.
· Five more Lebanese soldiers are said to have died from injuries sustained in continuing operations against Fatah Al-Islam fighters in a Palestinian refugee camp in north Lebanon.

More than 200 individuals were evacuated and the army arrested half of them for investigation
•Relief workers evacuated 215 individuals from Naher Al Bared camp mostly of women, children and old aged. Yesterday, the 2 rescuers from the Lebanese Red Crescent were escorted to their final resting place after being killed when Fatah Al–Islam militants hit their vehicle by a shell near the northern entrance of the camp.
•An authentic resource from the Palestinian Red Crescent declared that 105 displaced were delivered to Al Badawi camp while the Lebanese army arrested 110 individuals for investigation and checking their identities to know if they are required by the government.

Fatah Al Islam new leader, Shaheen Shaheen, was wounded during the confrontations at Naher Al Bared camp... 4 soldiers were killed and 9 are wounded in a building booby trapped by Fatah Al-Islam fighters
•The Lebanese and Palestinian parties are worried that the current conditions at the Palestinian lands between ‘Fatah” and “Hamas’ will affect badly the Palestinians relations with each other inside the Camps. Noting that, the Lebanese troops are about to eliminate “Fatah Al Islam” from Naher Al Bared camp where the regions of the camp will be under the Lebanese authority.

Clashes are disastrous at Naher Al Bared camp… the Lebanese troops advanced on many of Fatah Al Islam positions…
•As the army appeared to be close to crushing Fatah Al Islam's positions, Palestinian Scholars' League tried to mediate in the fighting in order to find a solution to this crisis where a delegation entered yesterday afternoon into Naher Al Bared camp and met with Shaheen Shaheen, the military leader of Fatah Al Isalm. The delegation will inform the Lebanese army what Shaheen Shaheen reported to it.
•Today morning, the Lebanese troops resumed shelling at Fatah Al Islam positions where the army advanced on many positions. The army tried to besiege Fatah Al Islam militants at the northeastern side of the camp that is the region extended from Al Qodos mosque till Al Tawneiah position and the old street inside the camp where the fighters used the buildings as forts. The army appeared to be close to crushing most of Fatah Al-Islam's positions.
Yesterday at 9:30, the Lebanese army prevailed over UNRWA schools and their surrounding at Nahr Al Bared camp. Many violent battles took place where the Lebanese army used three military airplanes to bombard the fortification that Fateh Al Islam put at the western side of the schools.
Fateh Al Islam still has only two positions at the new camp, which are located at the Al Taawniah building and Naji Al Ali medical group, but these two positions are considered fallen.
The Lebanese army enclosed the three main entrances of Naji Al Ali medical group. They disconnected the bombs that were planted at these entrances. The military tanks moved forward to Al Taawniah building, where violent battles took place around Al Taawniah, which led to the destruction of Abo Hatem refuge near Al Taawniah. 25 individuals of Fateh Al Islam were killed due to the destruction of the refuge.

After prevailing Al Taawniah building and Naji Al Ali medical group, the Lebanese army controlled most of the area of the new camp. The army is now disconnecting the bombs and mines that were planted by Fateh Al Islam individuals at the buildings that surround Al Taawniah building and Naji Al Ali medical group.
Till now the fate of Fateh Al Islam leadership is unknown.
A leader from the Lebanese army announced to the France Press agency that all the positions of Fateh Al Islam at the new camp were fallen and the battles were ended there. The leader added that they are checking the area there from mines and bombs.
